Compliance Officer (f/m) - Financial Sanctions

The Financial Sanctions Department, an organisational unit within the RBI Group’s Compliance division, is responsible for executing the Group steering and controlling function with regard to 1) financial sanctions, i.e. international requirements regarding embargos and trading restrictions, 2) counter terrorist financing and 3) sensitive business. To strengthen our team, we are currently looking for an results driven and IT-sensitive Financial Sanctions Manager:

Your tasks:

  • Implement financial sanctions within the RBI Group
  • Support development and implementation of Group Policies related to financial sanctions, prevention of terrorist financing and Funds Transfer Regulation
  • Cooperate with other departments regarding sanctions handling and contribute to assessments and advice  
  • Identify suspicious activities to violations of financial sanctions and embargos and terrorist financing
  • Assess transactions and Limit applications regarding applicable sanctions, Group Policies and reputational risk
  • Support internal and external reporting (e.g. towards OeNB)
  • Act as point of contact for sanction-related questions for the bank, network units and sector banks and support preparation of the relevant working group meetings (e.g. Financial Sanctions Task Force, Sektor-Kompetenzzentrum Sanktionen)
  • Use and support to optimize tools and processes (incl. list management) based on well-founded understanding of IT processes and its latest developments
  • Identify potential for new ways of working within our department and division (new collaboration technologies, new (agile) approaches, etc.)

Your qualifications:

  • Qualification in business with focus on banking or law
  • Work experience in a bank with strong focus on banking products, e.g. Payments, Cash Management, Relationship Management, processes and use of supporting IT tools
  • Open mind for IT developments and latest challenges in banking sector (digitalization), IT know how is an advantage
  • You are innovative, you have an interest in IT and want to work in pilots using new technologies
  • Proficiency in MS applications (Excel, Power Point, Word)
  • Excellent English and German skills, knowledge of CEE/SEE-languages is an advantage
  • Proactive personality, strong willingness to learn
  • Team player with high ability to work under pressure
  • High level of communications and conflict management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
