Andreas Treichl, the CEO of Erste Bank, which owns the Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR), said that real estate agents from all across Europe call every day and enquire about buying some of BCRs unused properties, business daily Ziarul Financiar has reported. However, Treichl said that the bank is in no rush to sell these properties. "We will have a lot of empty office space left in the following months and years. We own some buildings, we will reduce the space used in current subsidiaries and there will be a lot of space available, but its much too early for me to comment on what and how we will do with it. I dont believe this would be wise on my part," Treichl said. According to real estate experts, BCR has the most valuable headquarters and property network of all the banks present on the Romanian market, including a network of no less than 478 branches.
