According to Bosnian web portal BH Biznis, minister of transport and communications of the Muslim-Croat Federation, Nedzad Brankovic, will publicly present document “The Sector Policy of Privatisation of State-Owned Capital in Telecom Operators” at the end of next week.

The document represents federations response to the unilateral decision of the Republika Srpska government to sell Telekom Srpske.

The response of the federal government will be severe and equally inconsiderate as the decision of the Republika Srpska government to sell Telekom Srpske and, thus, considerably decrease the market value of the remaining two telecom operators in Bosnia and Herzegovina: BH Telecom and HT Mostar.

The federal government will propose that the state-owned capital in BH Telecom and HT Mostar be sold simultaneously and in one package.

At the same time, the federal government will propose calling of a concession tender for the third GSM licence in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Unlike the Republika Srpska government, which is planning to sell the entire infrastructure of Telekom Srpske, the federal government will separate telecommunication infrastructure from telecom operators. The infrastructure would remain in state ownership, while only telecom operators would go private.

According to Bosnian media, the response of the federal government will divert the attention of Mobilkom Austria, France Telecom, Deutsche Telecom and other regional telecom operators, and Telekom Srpske will become less interesting to them.
