The Austrian subsidiary of German drugstore chain Drogerie Markt (dm) has entered the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the opening of two stores in Sarajevo and Tuzla, dm Austria CEO Guenter Bauer said on Wednesday.

The expansion to Bosnia and Herzegovina was a logical move as the company is already present in neighbouring Croatia and Serbia. Dm operates a over 800 stores with a workforce of almost 8,300 in Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Revenue, excluding Germany, is expected to reach EUR 1 billion in fiscal 2005. Dm, including Germany, generated revenue of EUR 3.33 billion for fiscal 2004.
