Following a 6-month selection procedure from a list of more than 10 potential European and Asian suppliers, Magyar Telekom has signed a multi-year frame contract with Kapsch, a communications service supplier for carriers and service providers, for the supply of Transmode TM-Series CWDM (Coarse Wavelength-division Multiplexing) systems. The first deployments under the contract are now up and running, the company announced.

"After evaluating solutions from many suppliers from Europe and Asia, we concluded that the Transmode TM-Series solution offered by Kapsch is the ideal platform for Magyar Telekom," said Attila Koós, Magyar Telekoms development director.

"Key decision points during our technical evaluation included industry-leading functionality, low footprint, high scalability, and overall system reliability. These technical advantages with an attractive price/performance ratio, in conjunction with the local know-how and professional approach of the Kapsch team lead to our decision," Koós added.
