The Czech anti-trust office UOHS will refrain from imposing a fine on Kapsch of Austria

The Czech anti-trust office UOHS will refrain from imposing a fine on Kapsch of Austria. Rather, it recommended that the Transport Ministry call a separate tender for the delivery of diesel generators for the nations toll gate system, chairman Martin Pecina said.

According to him, the amendment to the deal with Austrias Kapsch does not include such deliveries; thus, the state was obliged to launch a tender.

Moreover, the controversial first amendment to the agreement contains more violations of the law, he said, adding UOHS cannot intervene because a court must deal with it.

The UOHS decided not to impose a fine because Kapsch took over the costs for the diesel units from the state which originally had to pay for them.

"Moreover, the changes in the amendment had no significant impact on the ranking of bids in the original tender," he said.
