Steven van Groningen, Raiffeisen Bank President and CEO, told daily Nine OClock that the bank intends to continue expansion in Romania and to create a long term bank – client relationship and to raise the number of products per person.

"The outcomes for Romania corresponding to 2006 are fine, which enables us to start around 100 new branches in 2007. Currently, we have 273 branches, and we intend to exceed 365 units until the end of the year. In terms of assets, Raiffeisen Bank has reached 8-9 per cent, and in terms of clients, our market share is 10 per cent. The bank ranks third on the financial market in Romania, from the viewpoint of total assets. Having a very good strategy counts even more than the financial outcomes for 2006. We are during a solid growth time, but we also looking to expanding", Steven van Groningen said.

"We shall continue to improve ourselves and to permanently adapt our products and services, depending on the clients’ needs. Also, we made important steps in 2006 towards specialising our employees who have direct contact with clients for them to be able to provide the best and most appropriate banking financial solutions", he added.
