Vienna-based Henkel boosted its sales to HUF 72.8 billion in Hungary in 2006, which represents a 15-per-cent increase y/y. The company recorded substantial growth both in exports and domestic sales.

Henkel Magyarországs exports totalled HUF 32 billion in 2006, up by 15 per cent y/y. The Hungarian unit spent over HUF 2 billion on investments last year, primarily on the expansion of its Körösladány unit and other modernisation and capacity boosting projects. Henkel Magyarország has a 700-strong staff.

Products coming out of the three Hungarian plants - in Körösladány, Barcs and Vác - are sold in 33 countries, including the United States and Japan. Group revenues totalled EUR 12.74 billion sales in 2006, up 6.4 per cent y/y. Henkel CEE employs 7700 people.
