Austrian-owned Novomatic AG, one of the largest gaming machine producers in Europe, which also operates casinos equipped with such machines, will extend its Hungarian production base, Napi Gazdasag cited Judith Herczig, the firms subsidiary, AGI Hungaria Kft senior manager as saying.

Referring to the Hungarian network building projects, Herczig noted that the developments planned earlier were invariably in the pipeline, however, she did not reveal the prospective locations. AGE American Games Kft, another Novomatic subsidiary in the country, presently operates casinos in Budapest, Sopron and Sarvar, but developments in Szombathely, Szekesfehervar and Tatabanya are also on the agenda.

Novomatic AG plans to extend its production capacity in Hungary, Herczig added. The company has already transferred the whole capacity of electronic production to AGI Hungaria. She said that the prerequisite of these developments was the implementation of a EUR 3.5 million development in Veszkeny, with a 2,000-sq-m production plant, a logistical centre and an office building.

The Hungarian administration centre of the firm will be moved to Veszkeny from a rented building in Sopron at the beginning of next year. A multishift production scheme will also be introduced in order to better use the present capacity, and in parallel the present staff of 120 workers will also be extended.

The capacity increasing measures of the company can be explained by the fact that AGI is not only manufacturing gaming machine parts for the parent company but also supplies parts for several car makers and medical instrument producers as well.
