Among the tenants in City Centre One, apart from a number of local and international names, is a newcomer on the Croatian retail market, Austria-based sports retailer Hervis. According to Ales Cerne, an executive director at Hervis, this is the companys 100th store, and he is delighted that the opening was in Croatia, which he considers a rapidly growing market.

Cerne claims that to date there were not enough appropriate retail outlets available in Zagreb for companies such as Hervis to set up operations adequately, but he believes the construction of shopping centres similar to that of City Centre One has only just begun. More will certainly follow both in Zagreb and in a number of regional cities in which Hervis will undoubtedly be represented.

The company is currently investing heavily in sponsorship deals with a number of local sporting bodies including the Zagreb Athletics Association.

The newly-opened shopping mall in Zagreb, City Centre One, worth EUR 100 million, is the largest single private investment by an Austrian firm this year.  The complex includes 85 retail outlets plus a number of restaurants and cafés.
