Hungarys OTP bank said it has filed a binding offer for the acquisition of Diners Club Adriatic. However, Diners officials still claim negotiations with best suitors are still under way. Six offers were submitted for Diners, while the narrow selection, as informally learned, also includes Erste bank along with Hungarys OTP. Unofficial sources also said Diners owners would use legal obligations of the OTP to hasten up the whole process and "blow" up the price, which has already reached the sum of EUR 200 million, even though owners previously said they would be satisfied if the price reaches a maximum of EUR 150 million. Along with Hungarys OTP, Erste and RBA bank, one of the bidders is also Frances Societe Generale. Other candidates remain unknown. Diners International also stated it wishes to be involved in selection of the new owner of Croatian subsidiary DCA. As already known, Zarko Kraljevic, Marijan Hanzekovic and Tomaz Lovse, who are 100-per-cent owners of the Diners Club Adriatic, announced the sale to the best bidder in June this year. As the reason for sale the owners mentioned "favourable conditions on financial market." Despite the announced transparency, DCA Management committed in writing all participants in this process to silence and secrecy, including auditors Pricewaterhouse Coopers and legal advisors Porobija&Porobija.
