The Serbian Deposit Insurance Agency has started negotiating with the National Bank of Greece regarding the sale of 99.4 per cent of state-owned capital in Vojvodjanska Bank from Novi Sad, the Beta news agency has reported.

Serbian minister of finance, Mladjan Dinkic, reminded that the National Bank of Greece submitted a binding bid for Vojvodjanska Bank on June 20.

According to some unofficial information, the Greek bank offered about USD 500 million for Vojvodjanska Bank.

The remaining two qualified bidders, Polish PKO Bank and Bank Austria Creditanstalt (BA-CA), did not submit binding bids.

The capital of Vojvodjanska Bank was estimated to EUR 50.32 million. This bank employs 2,448 workers and has more than 680,000 clients.
