The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) announced on Friday that it will not press charges against HVB Bank and Raiffeisen Bank, the Beta news agency has reported.

NBS officials explained they will not press charges against the two banks because they informed their clients that NBS monetary measures were not the only cause of the increase in their interest rates.

The NBS previously announced that it will press criminal charges against HVB Bank and Raiffeisen Bank because they justified their decision to raise interest rates on certain kinds of loans solely by NBS monetary measures.
