The new director of Petrom, Mariana Gheorghe, said that the company is interested in the biofuels market
The new director of Petrom, Mariana Gheorghe, said that the company is interested in the biofuels market. The company is to decide if biofuels will be produced in the two refineries it owns in Romania, Petrobrazi and Arpechim.
“I am decided to make of Petrom not only the biggest Romanian company, but mostly a successful, profitable company,” she said.
Mariana Gheorghe took the management of the company on June 15, after she spent 13 years at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. She also represented the international financial institution in the Petrom Board of Directors. She was appointed to replace Gheorghe Constantinescu, who has become senior adviser of OMV group President, Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer.
Petrom was taken over by the Austrian group OMV at the end of 2004, in a transaction worth approx EUR 1.5 billion.
