Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) acquired a 1.2 per cent stake in Transelectrica, after subscribing most of the shares in the companys IPO.

The Ministry of Economy is still the main shareholder of the company, with a 72 per cent stake, while the Property Fund controls 13.5 per cent of the shares. A 10 per cent share package was offered for sale on the Romanian Stock Exchange, and the IPO was oversubscribed 6.46 times.

BCR is the most important Romanian bank and it was acquired by Austrian Erste Bank in a record transaction last year.
