Austrian bank BKS, former Bank fur Kaertner und Steiermark, plans to adopt a final decision on the acquisition of two banks in Croatia. Negotiations with several smaller banks in the country are already under way, but if these talks fail, Austrians plan to establish their own bank.

BKS already operates in Zagreb a representative office and a leasing company, which should also be expanded this year. Along with existing affiliates, BKS also plans to develop so-called mobile counselling that stipulates turning 50 passenger vehicles into small offices.

BKS last year reported total assets of EUR 4.7 billion and profits of EUR 113.4 million.
